The New York City Drivers' Assistance Corp. ("NYCDAC") is a dedicated team of lawyers, agency certified representatives, and industry consultants which provides the necessary expertise, knowledge and experience to effectively represent all licensees - including drivers, owners, brokers, and agents - in the
transportation industry.



STAFF

Gregory Gallo
An attorney licensed to practice in New York and Connecticut. Greg served as legal counsel to New York City Drivers Assistance Corporation since 2002. His many years in representing licensees in TLC caused Greg to seek to improve the TLC hearing process for respondents. He has sued to protect the rights of the industry and its members. He is well respected for his knowledge of the rules and diligent preparation for hearings at TLC.


Joseph Scifo

Joe’s followed in his father’s footsteps by representing the taxi industry in hearings before the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission. Joseph Scifo, Sr., was the first licensed industry representative dating back to the early 1970’s. Joe has represented the industry for over 25 years as well. He has owned taxicabs, served as a union representative for the industry, and has handled every type of matter at the commission. As the most familiar face in the industry Joe’s experience and knowledge have garnered him recognition as the person to see when a person or a company in the industry has a problem with their license. LOMTO awarded Joe as its “Man of the Year” in honor of his many years of dedicated service



Charles LaSala

Charlie joined Joe ten years ago and together the two expanding NYCDAC to serve all branches of the ground transportation industry. Furthermore, Charlie is known throughout the for-hire, commuter and paratransit industries. He has assisted many base owners with everything from base renewals and location changes to licensing new bases. Charlie has been a licensed TLC representative for nearly eight years, and during that time has represented drivers, owners and bases at TLC in Long Island City as well as in consumer complaint hearings on 40 Rector Street. Charlie is also a licensed New York State Defensive Driving Course Instructor to help drivers reduce points on their DMV license.



Sandra Rojas
Sandy is a welcome face to anyone who has received a TLC summons and needed help. She has been serving the taxi and limousine industry for over 10 years. People in the industry depend on her for everything from defending summonses, clearing suspensions, processing paperwork and interpreting for them. After years of translating for Spanish-speaking respondents Sandy decided to become a representative. Sandy’s popularity is a product of her hard work, positive attitude and genuine concern for the drivers.


Jashim Chowdhury
Jashim came to the United States from his native Bangladesh. He first helped many drivers obtain their licenses while working for a taxi school. He now is a valuable member of our team helping drivers navigate their way through the summons process, explaining the point system and assisting in keeping their licenses current.
